Melissa brings 20+ years of accounting and finance experience, focused primarily in the marine industry. Melissa completed both her undergrad and Masters of Accountancy from The University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She is a licensed CPA in Florida and Tennessee. Melissa is a native Tennessean but spent a period of time in South Florida before returning to her roots in Knoxville.

Upon completion of her Master’s, Melissa passed on a traditional staff role with Deloitte to take a gamble on a newly created role of developing the framework around Sarbanes-Oxley with Brunswick Boat Group. Melissa began taking on roles with increasing responsibility and leadership in financial controls, FP&A, corporate reporting and eventually ending up in the C Suite.

Melissa has a passion for helping small businesses understand their strengths and weakness by positioning the finance function as a competitive advantage. Planning, strategizing, reflecting, and working as a cohesive team with all facets of the organization to utilize and understand the data provided in the financials. Melissa takes a partnership approach to her client relationships by embedding herself as part of the management team.

You can find Melissa exploring the world and attending F1 races with her son Yates, a student at Florida State University. She also enjoys playing with her goldendoodle Poncho and cheering on the Volunteers.
